Alyssa Persinger

Alyssa has been working as a dental hygienist for nearly 12 years. She attended Virginia Western Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2014.

Alyssa was first introduced to the world of myofunctional therapy when her daughter was born tongue-tied in 2016 and struggled with breastfeeding. What began as a personal search for answers quickly grew into several years of self-education, research, and following leading pioneers in the field.

Over time, Alyssa realized just how prevalent these conditions truly are, and felt called to take a more active role. In 2020, she began formal training to better serve this population and deepen her clinical expertise.

Since then, Alyssa has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education focused on airway-centric disorders, orofacial muscular dysfunction, and their whole-body effects.

Her passion for this work fuels her mission: to help individuals achieve functional health and to equip other providers with the knowledge needed so that these conditions no longer go unnoticed or untreated.
